About Emergency Response Team
A specialized team tasked with resolving high risk/critical incidents.
The Emergency Response Team (ERT) is a comprised of police officers trained to respond to incidents where there is a high threat level. These officers are assigned to platoons and have specialized training and equipment to resolve high-risk situations. The dynamic nature of these incidents often requires an integrated response.
ERT duties can include:
- Resolving armed and barricaded persons incidents
- High-risk searches and arrests
- Assisting with searches for missing/vulnerable people
- Training with K9 teams and crisis negotiators
